Never Apologize for Being Patrioticā€™: Legendary Country Singer Toby Keith Urges Daughter Before Dying!

What personal belongings do you hold most dear?

My personal relationship with Jesus.

At times, we all go through mourning. We lose loved ones, relationships, or even jobs and find ourselves weighed down by grief. Jesus promises that when we mourn, He will be there to comfort us. Grief and sadness subside in their time, but it is assuring to know that in the midst of them, we are not alone, as God himself remains near and weeps with us.

āœ Yochanan 1:1

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

āœ Yochanan 1:2

“The same was in the beginning with God.”

āœ Yochanan 1:3

“All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.”

āœ Yochanan 1:4

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

āœ Yochanan 1:5

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasnā€™t overcome it.”

Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and I thank You for Your great love. As I wrestle with the grief of loss that weighs heavy on my heart, I pray that You would bring relief to my burden. Help me to bear my sorrow so that I may endure this season of mourning and take comfort in knowing that You are with me. In Jesusā€™ name, Amen.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that he disagrees with arrest warrants sought against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC), suggesting that U.S. leaders could be next.
The ICC this week said it would seek arrest warrants for Mr. Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and the Hamas leaders, prompting criticism from both Israeli and top U.S. officials, including President Joe Biden. The ICC claimed that the warrants for the Israeli leadership were over the countryā€™s conduct in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Mr. Netanyahu said the warrants against himself and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the countryā€™s conduct in its fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip set a ā€œdangerousā€ precedent for other democratic countries, including Israelā€™s allies.

ā€œIsrael is given here a bum rap. I think itā€™s dangerous. Basically, itā€™s the first democracy being taken to the dock when it is doing exactly what democracies should be doing in an exemplary way,ā€ he told CNN in a televised interview. ā€œIt endangers all other democracies. Israel is first, but youā€™re next. Britain is next. Others are next, too.ā€

Also in the interview, Mr. Netanyahu asserted that the ICC claims were ā€œfalse, dangerous, and outrageous,ā€ and that chief prosecutor Karim Khan is only exacerbating the problem. Itā€™s also false to see Israel and Hamas as equals, he added.

ā€œHeā€™s equating the democratically elected leaders of Israel with the terrorist tyrants of Hamas. Thatā€™s like saying, well, Iā€™m issuing arrest warrants for FDR and Churchill but also for Hitler. Or Iā€™m going to issue arrest warrants for George W. Bush but also for [Osama] bin Laden. Thatā€™s absurd,ā€ Mr. Netanyahu said.

A panel of three judges will decide whether to issue the arrest warrants and allow a case to proceed. The judges typically take two months to make such decisions.

Israel is not a member of the court, so even if the arrest warrants are issued, Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Gallant do not face any immediate risk of prosecution. But the threat of arrest could make it difficult for the Israeli leaders to travel abroad.

Mr. Khan, the prosecutor, said in a statement Monday that the two may ā€œbear criminal responsibilityā€ for ā€œwar crimes and crimes against humanityā€ in Gaza, including the alleged starvation of civilians, willful killing, persecution, and more. As for Hamas, the ICC said its leaders Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri may be responsible for crimes against humanity, taking hostages as a war crime, torture, various inhumane acts, and more.

International human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, the wife of actor George Clooney, served on a five-member expert panel that advised Mr. Khan. She said the panel had agreed unanimously that there are ā€œreasonable groundsā€ to believe that both the Hamas and Israeli leaders had committed war crimes, according to a statement issued by her office.

In a statement issued on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington rejects the ICC prosecutorā€™s announcement that he would seek arrest warrants, adding that ā€œwe reject the Prosecutorā€™s equivalence of Israel with Hamas. It is shameful.ā€

ā€œHamas is a brutal organization that carried out the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and is still holding dozens of innocent people hostage, including Americans,ā€ he added in the statement.

Hamas, a U.S. State Department-designated terrorist organization, also denounced the ICC prosecutorā€™s actions, saying the request to arrest its leaders ā€œequates the victim with the executioner.ā€

Inside the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said he backed the ICCā€™s move, saying ā€œthese arrest warrants may or may not be carried out, but it is imperative that the global community uphold international law,ā€ according to a statement he issued earlier this week. ā€œWithout these standards of decency and morality, this planet may rapidly descend into anarchy, never-ending wars, and barbarism.ā€

Israel is separately facing a South African-brought case in the International Court of Justice, the top court of the United Nations, in which it accused the country of genocide. Israeli officials have denied those claims.

The ICC was established in 2002 to prosecute people linked to war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity, and aggression.

Last year, the ICC issued a warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin on charges linked to the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Kremlin responded by issuing arrest warrants for Mr. Khan and other judges on the international panel.

Other prominent individuals who have been charged by the ICC include former Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi, who died in November 2011 amid the ā€œArab Springā€ uprisings of the same year, as well as his son Saif Gadhafi, former Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir, and African warlord Joseph Kony.

15 Bible Verses About Loving Your Enemies
To obey Godā€™s mission, we must be prepared to love those who oppose our message.

Thereā€™s no way around it.
As Christians, weā€™re called to love our enemies. One way to express that love is by praying for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44).

Itā€™s natural for us to pray for those stranded in Afghanistan or to pray for those dealing with the aftermath of a natural disaster. But, if we truly are to love our enemies, that means loving the boss or co-worker who takes advantage of you, and yes, even religious extremists like the Taliban.

Whenever weā€™re wronged or observe injusticeā€”whether being slandered against or watching in horror as the Taliban takes over Afghanistanā€”we must refrain from giving ourselves over to hatred and contempt.

Instead, letā€™s meditate on these 15 Bible verses that command us to pray for our enemies.

Genesis 50:20:

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

1 Timothy 2:1-2:

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all peopleā€”for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Luke 23:34:

And Jesus said, ā€œFather, forgive them, for they know not what they do.ā€

Luke 6:27-28:

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Job 31:29-30:

If I have rejoiced at the ruin of him who hated me, or exulted when evil overtook him (I have not let my mouth sin by asking for his life with a curse)[.]

Proverbs 24:17:

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles[.]

1 Peter 3:9:

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

Romans 12:14, 17-19:

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse . . . Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for Godā€™s wrath, for it is written: ā€œIt is mine to avenge; I will repay,ā€ says the Lord.

Proverbs 25:21-22:

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.

Proverbs 16:7:

When a manā€™s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Proverbs 20:22:

Do not say, ā€œI will repay evilā€; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.

Romans 5:8:

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:28:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Matthew 5:43-45:

You have heard that it was said, ā€˜Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.ā€™ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.

Ephesians 4:32:

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
