Communion is one of the most important ceremonies in the church. It is a reminder that the Holy Ghost surrounds us and is present in our lives at all times. This tradition has been on going for thousands of years: think of the importance and impact that eating these symbols of Jesus’ life and death have had throughout history! Each time that we do it, we join billions of other believers, going through the same struggles, yearning for the same relationship, and loving the same God. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? It is wise to stop what we are doing and look up every once in a while. We can get so trapped and consumed in our day to day lives that we forget to look to the mountains, to the heavens, at the one thing that is really important: God. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The best way to train a child is by showing them yourself. The best way to show them yourself is to master the thing that you aim to train them in. Train yourself in the ways of the Lord so that you may train a child. They will see the benefits that it has on your life and they will naturally train themselves to adopt the same beneficial behaviors and beliefs. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things. Almighty God, maker of both heaven and earth, mover of mountains, splitter of seas, you are the all-powerful and loving God that we do not deserve. I shall never forget what you have done for me, and I shall strive with every fiber of my being to love you with all my heart and with all my strength, as you have commanded.
How could God be any more generous to us? He sent His only son to earth to die for us so that we could reside with Him in heaven for eternity. He created us in His image and if we ask anything of Him, He shall always listen. If He was willing to give His only son as a sacrifice, what do you think He would refuse to give us? Nothing.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. You have given me everything, generous and loving Lord, and I can only give You that which You already have. I vow to give You all of my life’s energy, blessed Father, and love You with all of my heart and strength. I ask forgiveness for the many moments of selfishness in my life, where I thought not of You but thought only of myself. You have never done this to me, but I have done it to You. As Your humble child, I repent at Your feet. I am kneeling, Lord. Please lift me up. Amen Amen.
Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed are we who come in the name of the Lord. Truly blessed are we that have a strong faith that can endure the challenges that life brings to us. I pray all of this to Jesus Christ, my strength and my redeemer. Almighty Father, You have trained me well, but I am a slow learner. I am thankful for Your patience, because I need to be told things many times for my stubborn mind to let it set in. Help me to learn the ways of Your holy word, so that I may train others in the same way that You have trained me. I also wish to thank you for sending the many teachers and holy people into my life, for my faith journey would have taken an entirely different course if not for them. I pray all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen. Amen.
