Letters to Me from Important People! November 17th, 2021

If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD—and he will repay you! (Proverbs 19:17 NLT)

Dear Delana,

I want to wish you and yours a happy Thanksgiving! As I pause to remember my many blessings and rejoice in God’s faithfulness, I think of you—my friend and co-laborer in the Lord. I am so grateful to you for the significant difference you are making here in America and around the world for the kingdom of God.

This Thanksgiving, many people will be giving thanks for you. They are grateful for food and lifesaving medical care, for a new beginning in Christ, and fresh opportunities to care for their families through microenterprise projects. I am grateful because CBN partners are so faithful, caring and steadfast in their love!

I am writing to you today to ask you to join me in a Robertson family tradition of remembering the lost and hurting. Each year, we take the amount we spend on our Thanksgiving dinner and give an equal amount to help those in need. This is an offering that pleases God and demonstrates our thankfulness to Him.

Please join me this Thanksgiving in giving back to the Lord with a grateful heart for all He has done for you. May your thankfulness cause blessings to overflow in your life and bring you great joy!

Yours in Christ,

24-Hour Prayer: 800-700-7000

Dear Delana,

You are an integral part of the outreach ministry of Pathway to Victory!

Together, we are standing against godlessness and for biblical morality and truth. Thank you for making such a profound difference!

Your heart for evangelism and calling a broken nation back to God is the reason we want to be sure you’re aware of a great way to fuel this passion:

You can donate appreciated assets, such as stocks or property, to Pathway to Victory.

This way you can likely make an even greater impact than if you sell the assets and donate the proceeds. Just look at the advantages of donating appreciated assets:

  • You receive a charitable giving deduction for the fair market value of the asset if you have owned the asset over 12 months.
    • The fair market value can be deducted against up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for 2021, and any excess deductions can be carried forward into as many as five additional tax years. (This benefit is for 2021 only due to the Cares Act.)
  • You will likely avoid capital gains tax that you would pay on the appreciation if you sold the asset.
  • Donating the appreciated assets directly to Pathway to Victory — rather than selling them and then donating the proceeds — allows you to make a bigger impact.

Gifting appreciated assets is an incredible way to maximize the impact you are already making: saving lost souls, standing for morality, and boldly sharing the gospel! I hope you will consider this giving option today.
